Jade - My Little Princess

It all started with Jade.  She was a year old October 9, 2006.  She re-kindled my passion for animals after a long lull of burnout.  She welcomes into our home all the  homeless fosters and acts as ambassador as they make their transition.  I couldn't do what I do, without her.

This is Chocolate Drop when she was 9 months old and new to our household.  Two years later, she's still the sweetest piece of chocolate I've ever loved and kissed on.  Please refer to our memories page to see how these babies have grown and changed.

Meet Eddie!  Eddie is one of those fosters that come along and just never leave.  Eddie had been adopted by a lady outside of Ft. Worth but since she couldn't take him right away, he came to be fostered at my house for a week.  Eddie DIDN'T like cats and his new mommy had 4 cats!  She said 'no way' and I said, "ok, you can stay"....but Eddie..no eating the cats!

This is little Kassie.  What a spitfire rolled up into tiny little package.  She's come a long way since the day she first came to live in our home.  I have to tell you, our home wouldn't be complete without her.  Jade still doesn't much care for her sister, after a year now, but we're still hoping that that sisterly bond will somehow eventually show through.

Meet Duffy!  Duffy was found on the streets of Abiline wandering around looking for a morsel of food.  He's only been with our family for about a month now, and he's already put on some weight, had his teeth cleaned (many extracted) and been neutered.  He's now ready to settle into a great family life being spoiled beyond good sense.  He's a well behaved little boy without a mean bone in his tiny little body.

Duffy has begun his heart worm treatment.  He's getting it done in three shots so in another month, he'll go in for his second.  So far, he's been a trooper and things are going great!

This is Honey or now known as Princess Honey.  Honey came from great breeding background, was registered, cute and tiny.  Honey was the minpin that everyone dreams of sharing their life with, yet do you want to know where I just found Honey?  Honey was purchased from the lady that bought her from the breeder, so she has been in two homes and now three with mine.  I just pulled her from a dirty, backyard  pen, where she was being kept to breed, thus making this gentleman some quick cash.  Honey has had NO medical attention and her teeth are falling out of her mouth at age 5.  She will be 6 on June 27.  I guess she got an early birthday present this year, because she will no longer sleep in dirt, without shade and covers.  She will now be fed quality food and receive the necessary vetting that she's in desperate need of.  We still need to find out her Heartworm status and next week, the facts will be in.  Last night, she shared the big bed and was so at home.  Finally, she can sleep at night without one eye open.  She will no longer need to guard her food for fear there will be none for tomorrow.  Please, do not breed.  Even quality dogs end up living in squalor.  There are TOO MANY to keep breeding more.  Adopt from a rescue or visit your local shelters.  For all the Honeys in the world, please do not buy while others die.

My foster's profiles may be viewed at the above website.  If you are looking to add a new member to your family, please visit the website and fill out an adoption application.  If you have room in your home to house a rescue, please fill out the volunteer's application.  We are located nationally.  Rescue does not necessarily mean fostering.  We need your help in transporting, paperwork, doing home visits, shelter walking, etc.  If you would like to help, please act today.  There are many lives that depend on it.
